First Book Events of 2019!

I am so ready to meet readers and sign books! For my first book event of the year I'll be returning to Comicpalooza in Houston. It's happening Mother's Day weekend, May 10th - 12th at the George R. Brown convention center downtown. I'm sharing a booth with the amazing Melissa Schroeder, plus I will be moderating two different panels. Keep an eye on my Twitter and Facebook posts for the most updated info on where to find me at the con.

Next will be one of my favorite events, the Anniversary of Copperfield's Books in Spring, TX. This is their 5th Anniversary celebration, and they always like to feature local authors. More info can be found at their Facebook page for the event.

As always, I have a print book preorder form available. Please feel free to use it in order to guarantee there is a book available for you. My Samhain titles are almost completely gone, and may not be re-released for at least another year or more.

If there is an event you would like me to attend, please feel free to comment below or shoot me an email at missyjane01@gmail.com.

I'm Not Saying It's a Resolution

2019 is here, and with the New Year most people make resolutions. However, a lot of people don't keep resolutions past the first two weeks or so, including me. Therefore, I'm not making "resolutions" this year. I'm making determinations.
 I am determined to:

  • exercise for at least 30 minutes every day
  • eat healthier so I can stop taking at least one of the too many medications I'm currently required to take. I've decided to cut out bread from my diet and eat less candy for starters.
  • write, write, write, every chance I get. I haven't written a single thing in weeks, but this blog post is step one!
  • Slow down on the political posts. I know there are many people who are sick to death of them, but some things still need to be magnified as much as we are able. But, I'm going to try to tone it down a bit. As it is, I mostly post the political stuff on Twitter instead of Facebook anyway.
  • Self-publish at least two books this year. I have Born of Stone almost ready to go. I may also get Born of Magic ready, and then go from there.
I started out pretty well on January 2nd with eating healthy and exercising. Right now my legs are sore and I really, really, really miss chocolate, but I'm doing okay otherwise. Have you made any resolutions for 2019? Leave a comment to let me know what you're determined to accomplish this year.

It's almost Christmas! If you're like me, then you love to shop for family and friends on Black Friday. Which is great, except (if you're like me) then you wind up being left out of the gift buying frenzy. I'm here to help you out. This Black Friday, November 23rd, I will be hosting a day in the Winter Romance Reads Facebook group. There will be bad holiday jokes, there will be yummy holiday recipes, and there will be GIVEAWAYS!

Please join me here as I pop in between my own holiday shopping adventures and post comments. Every comment will be entered into my drawing, as well as the event drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card! You do have to join the group, however, you can turn off notifications and/or leave the group once you're finished enjoying the posts. So, please join me this Friday and GOOD LUCK!

Comicpalooza 2018

It's that time of year again for Comicpalooza in Houston! This year I'll have a table in the Artists Alley section of the hall, along with Cornelia Amiri and Raven Raye. Our booth number is 3337. Come visit us to see what new books we have to offer.

I'm also going to be participating in two panels and an open mic reading session.

Friday: Beyond Hogwarts: What's new in the Potterverse 2-3 pm.

Saturday: Open Mic reading session starts at 4:30, I'm 5th in line.

Sunday: The Business of Writing: 1:30-2:30 pm

For the open mic I'm going to read from an unpublished manuscript, the sequel to They Call Me Death. I will also have the very last four copies of They Call Me Death available, for the time being. This is one I plan to self-pub in the very near future.

On Sunday, my panel The Business of Writing will cover tips and tricks for the aspiring and/or newly published author. If you can't make it, the handout full of useful info can be found here.
I hope to see all y'all there!
