I wasn't going to say anything about the current ruckus over Ellora's Cave. To be honest, I'm really disappointed that it's become a public slingfest, with accusations flying all around. I'm NOT going to comment about any PRIVATE correspondence between EC and it's authors, as too many of my fellow authors have chosen to do. But I will say I think they made the wrong decision in doing so.
Perhaps I'm being naive, but I try to remain as professional as possible when dealing with my publishers. I try to remain optimistic and give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, I have been through this once before when Sapphire Blue Publishing diminished. So far, there has been dialogue from EC to it's authors. Maybe not as much as some would like, and maybe not the words everyone wants to hear. However, we haven't been completely cut off like I've heard from other authors just before their publisher tanked.
What I'm asking of my readers is: please still buy my books. If you're having trouble with the EC site, please let me know. If you don't want to buy from their site no matter what, there are other outlets for those books. At this point, I'm still confident I'm being paid. I'll let you know if that changes. If you simply refuse to buy EC books, well I do have three other publishers to choose from. I'm also with Entangled, Samhain, and Just Ink Press.
